Stylos Editing LLC is a language editing company that offers proofreading and copyediting services to academic researchers and scientists, as well as to established authors and emerging writers to improve their publishing success. We also offer specialized services both in book editing and scientific and academic editing to meet our clients’ manuscript needs, as well as English/Spanish and Spanish/English translations.
Melissa Rodriguez Tallant, co-founder and CEO, is a dedicated communicator and an experienced scientist with a background in cancer biology, pharmacology and medicine. She holds an Medical Degree (MD) and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and is committed to bridging the gap in science communication of non-native English speakers to produce quality publications for the advancement of health and research. Prior to founding Stylos Editing LLC, Melissa Rodriguez worked as a freelance medical editor, where she gained experience editing both journal manuscripts and book chapters. This experience made her realize the importance of having an in-depth understanding of both the science and the language to produce high-quality editing. She co-founded Stylos Editing, LLC in 2016 to provide authors with a tool to better jump the language barrier and publish their work to the international community. She is an associate member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the Endocrine Society (ENDO). She is also a member of the American Medical Writer’s Association (AMWA).
Melina Rodriguez-Cook, co-founder and Chief Service Officer (CSO),
is an enthusiastic language expert. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Creative Writing, a Master of Arts in Linguistics and a PhD in Humanities. She is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) and The Author’s Guild (AG) in the United States. Melina Rodriguez has worked as a freelance proofreader and editor, where she gained experience in proofreading and editing documents both in genre fiction and non-fiction as well as from a wide range of academic specialties in both English and Spanish. She is also a member of the American Translator’s Association (ATA) in the United States. Melina Rodriguez is an avid reader and author who is currently working on her own works of fiction (a novel and short stories) as well as helping other authors with their own manuscripts as both a developmental editor and copyeditor.
